A message to Islamophobes - Specially to the Christian Islamophobes

Every now and then we hear people claiming "Islam is a religion of war, Muslims are ordered to kill non-Muslims, It's a barbaric religion, women are treated like third class citizens, Islam beheads homosexuals and blah blah blah"... Often citing passages from the Quran to justify their claims... though out of context passages.

So if we are going down the route of cherry picking passages to fit an anti-Muslim narrative... Then I too can attempt to cherry pick passages from the Old and New Testament (The Bible) if my intention was to create an anti-Christian narrative. Please note however this is for example purposes, as a Muslim i completely revere Jesus Christ and his original teachings. Belief in Jesus Christ is one of fundamental article of faith in Islam.

So let's start! we all have this image that Jesus is love, Jesus is compassion yet he commands murder.

Views on murder and virgins:
"Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves"
- [Numbers 31:17-18] Shocked? Hang on.

Jesus brings peace?
"Do not suppose that I [Jesus] have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
- [Matthew 10:34]

Punishment for adultery?
"If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death."
- [Leviticus 20:10]

I thought it was only Islam that ordered death to adulterers?

Views on homosexuality?
"The men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."
- [Romans 1:27]
Punishment for homosexuality. Thought Christianity was tolerant?

Freedom of speech..surely has?
"Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death."
- [Leviticus 24:16]

Women rights? Surely held equal to men?
"Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit everything to their husbands."
- [Ephesians 5:23–33]

Surely it's just Islam that teaches to chop off hands?
"When men fight with one another, and the wife of the one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of him who is beating him, and puts out her hand and seizes him by the private parts, then you shall cut off her hand.
- [Deuteronomy 25:11-12]

Punishment for a rapist?
"A raped, unengaged virgin must marry her rapist and they can never divorce"
- [Deuteronomy 22:28-29]. Rough justice?

Views on other religious followers?
"They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman."
- [2 Chronicles 15:12-13]

Bible view on violence:
"Jesus commanding his followers "He said to them, 'But now if you have a purse, take it and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one."
- [Luke 22:36]

Leaving Christianity?
"If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or your daughter or the wife you embrace or your friend who is as your own soul entices you secretly, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” . . . you shall not yield to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him, nor shall you conceal him. But you shall kill him."
- [Deuteronomy 13:6]

Bible view on women wearing a Hijab!
"For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head."
- [Corinthians 11.6]

Now that I cherry picked these passages, do I now go and conclude that all those Christians that rape, murder and terrorize are all inspired by the Bible, and that Christianity is a barbaric unfair religion? and advocate banning Christianity and bashing Jesus for his "outrageous" statement, or do I research the passages in its full context and conclude that people are not inspired by religion to commit evil but rather the evils that swim in their veins?

I leave the Judgement to the readers.
